are you putting the ins in your name or your parents? If you can put the cars title in your parents name and list you as a primary driver on it you can go under their policy saying your adding another vehical and get a much better rate. I know cause im 21 and doing this with my mustang right now. $130 on my parents compaired to $180+ on my own.
What? Im telling you its cheaper to do it this way. Im doing it right now, if i were to put my car in my name i will get charged alot more since i will be on my own policy.

Mike is correct in that if the car is in a paren’ts name and you are listed as a driver on a family policy, it will cost less. I do this for my teenage daughter now and it is saving 60 a month. We are insured with Geico, they seem to have the best rates in our area, each area has different rates though.

It doesn’t matter one iota how long your family has been insured with one company. I have been insured with American Family for 46 years and they would drop me in a heartbeat if they so choose. All you can do is to shop around. Beware that some companies will give you a “teaser” rate to suck you in, then hammer you with a big increase, later. Stick with a big and reputable company with an agent that has a local office so you don’t have to play phone games with some mindless clerk. If you have a problem, you can go and look the agent in the eye. With insurance the last thing you need is to play silly phone and/or internet games.
