You need to shop around to see what you can get. No one can tell you if it’s high or low because so many things determine insurance that you don’t know about. Also why would they lower it if you keep paying it? Shop around and get quotes and see of they will lower to match. That does seem pretty high.

Holy crap!!! I’m 25 and drive a 2005 Tahoe 4×4 and i don’t have a clean record and i only pay $1200 a year with AIG and I have great full coverage. If i didn’t have an accident on there it was only going to be $800 a year. Turning 25 wasn’t a big change either it was the same when I was 24.

That sounds awfully high, I also say shop around. Progressive saved me about 50% on my insurance

There are many factors that determine your insurance rates. Age, driving experience, driving record, the type of vehicle you’re insuring and the type of coverage that you need. Rates vary from state to state as well as varying amongst rating ‘territories’ within your state. I’m not familiar with rating practices in your state as I’m only licensed in NY. However, absolutely “shop” for quotes in your area. Many times you can qualify for a lower rate by having kept continuous insurance and switching to a new carrier. If MA is like NY, you should also qualify for a better rate once your license is three years old and you should also experience a reduction at age 25. You may wish to consider switching your policy at the time your driving experience has reached that 3 year mark – or – at least switch to a 6 month policy at your renewal in July so that when you renew then in January, you’ll have that three years in. In NY ‘inexperience’ (less than three years driving experience) equates to about a 20% surcharge on liability and collision coverages. I can tell you that Toyotas can be more costly to insure than some other similar type vehicles, which may be part of the reason your rates are slightly higher. You can also consider taking a “Defensive Driving” or “Accident Prevention” course which, in NY, is a 6 hour course and is good for a 10% discount on liability and collision for three years from the date of completion.
hope this was somewhat helpful and good luck!

Get higher deductibles.
BTW, “k” is an incorrect and poor symbol for 1,000. If you insist on using a symbol, use “m” for 1,000. It is correct
