Does it matter how long you have been with your auto insurance?
My auto insurance is up for renewal and the premium has gone up. There are no changes to my policy from the previous year. No accidents etc. Because the premium has gone up I have been shopping around. I have informed my insurance company that I have been looking for a superior premium. They informed me that its superior when a person stays with the same carrier vs moving around to different carriers. They stated its especially important when you have a claim. Is that true?

A couple years ago I was ticketed for an illegal U-turn. I did an on the web traffic school and paid a fine. They had stated something about changing it to a parking ticket at the time. but from what I have learned by calling the automobile rental companies, basic liability is already included in the base price of the rental. The additional insurance they offer is to cover damage or loss on the automobile itself, additional liability, or personal accident coverage. Is there something I am missing, or not understanding?
