My Mother’s using the AARP insurance for her automobile and it just went up. Is there a way to find out what might be cheaper than that without filling out all those quotes with your presonal info? I happen to be an insurance agent licensed in Florida, and I know rates are going up everywhere in the state. I hate to state this but, for a person who is over 70, the rates are not good. Some insurance companies will not even bother writing any business for the elderly. If they do, rates will be sky high regardless of driving history. If you do find a rate that is too good to be true compared to other quotes you have received, it probably is. Bottom line is, you are screwed. Move to Arizona.

All insurers play ‘leap-frog’ with prices because their prices are determined by their loss experience.

If you have a good long-term track record with your insurance company they will not cancel you if you have a bad year.

It is not as simple as saying try company X as a company that is cheap for one person might not be cheap for someone else as the quote they give depends on your own personal circumstances and driving history.

There is unfortunately no swift way for young inexperienced drivers to get cheap automobile insurance. Insurers are getting hammered with claims from this age group, and lots of UK insurers have taken the decision to stop insuring younger drivers altogether. Those who still do insure them are forced to charge high prices to cover the cost of the claims they make.

There is only one way to get cheaper automobile insurance, and that is to pay the going rate for a few years, and try to build up some claim free driving experience. You will soon find, once you get some no claims discount, and some experience, that the cost will begin to come down. In the meantime, I would try one of the price comparison web sites, as whilst they will all be expensive, it will help to identify the least expensive.

Sorry, but there simply is no simple answer. If there was, we would all be doing it.

An excellent company based in Ohio is Ohio Casualty. All will give a discount for insuring both your home and autos. To compare rates try www.directoryinsurance.com. Remember that independent agents such as those used by Ohio Casualty have contracts with numerous companies and they can give you options. Companies such as St. Farm, Allstate, and Farmers have agents that write business soley for the company they work for. Keep in mind that agents represent the company they write business for not the client.
