I started a full coverage policy on my truck (04 Ford) for $ 90.00.
Everyone else quoted me far more than that.
Seriously – see if there is one near you… might save you a bundle

How can they offer such cheap rates, especially with all of the advertising they do? Are people having difficulty getting money out of Geico when they make claims?

It just seems odd to me that they can offer such low rates.

liberty mutual is much cheaper! (believe me i had geico for 3 years and now i pay 600 less per year using liberty mutual.) Also, Geico is not very good at paperwork when you do have a problem. It took me a month of phone tag and fax tag to clear up an incident that someone backed into my car, till this day they have it listed as an accident when it wasnt supposed to be( which causes me to have points on my insurance) .. i still am fighting with them over it a year and a half later.) i boycotted geico… check out liberty mutual tho.. the customer service reps are a lot nicer and helpful. plus they are MUCH CHEAPER!

Actually, when you see someone doing a lot of advertising over and over, it means that it is paying for them, else they would not be doing it.
But I have heard a few people state that they were not the cheapest, it all depends on might factors… but anyway when I find a cheaper quote than my current insurers I am usually delighted, so you should be too I hope

It is not as simple as saying try company X as a company that is cheap for one person might not be cheap for someone else as the quote they give depends on your own personal circumstances and driving history.

There is unfortunately no swift way for young inexperienced drivers to get cheap automobile insurance. Insurers are getting hammered with claims from this age group, and lots of UK insurers have taken the decision to stop insuring younger drivers altogether. Those who still do insure them are forced to charge high prices to cover the cost of the claims they make.

There is only one way to get cheaper automobile insurance, and that is to pay the going rate for a few years, and try to build up some claim free driving experience. You will soon find, once you get some no claims discount, and some experience, that the cost will begin to come down. In the meantime, I would try one of the price comparison web sites, as whilst they will all be expensive, it will help to identify the least expensive.

Sorry, but there simply is no simple answer. If there was, we would all be doing it.

Just with living in Brooklyn and not knowing any other information such as your automobile and driving history, I would doubt you can find insurance that cheap. Urban environments always have higher rates, and NYC is brutal when it comes to cost of insurance.

Crap insurance, is the one with the cheapest rates. No insurance has the cheapest rates for everyone, and the cheapest ones are the ones with the least coverage.

There’s no short cut. You have to shop around.

Probably not. Amica is one of the cheapest companies. If Amica is asking for $ 55 per month, which is high for Amica, then either (a) you are under 25, (b) you live in a place where insurance is costly for everyone, or (c) something about your driving records makes it impossible for any company to offer you cheap insurance. If any of these three reasons is why Amica quoted you so high, then you can’t get cheap insurance from any company. However, if the reason why these two quotes were high is your credit score, then you can get cheaper insurance from a company that does not use credit scores.

“Above what he is willing to pay”? He might not like it, but if he wants to drive, he needs to pay what they stipulate. Teenage boys are the highest risk category and as such, rates are the highest. He might not like it but those are the facts. Shop around for rates. The cheapest is not necessarily the ideal deal. You want coverage that will stand up if there is a problem.

your ideal bet is to go to the bus station. 500-700 a month is average for your record theres no getting around it unless you get a family member just to get insurance for your automobile and you drive it and pay for the insurance. so you pay regular costs under who evers name.

You have a bad driving record, and a history of not following the rules (driving while your license was suspended) You are a very high risk to get into a collision, and as such, the cost of insurance will reflect the risk.

An SR- 22 is a Certificate of Financial Responsibility, which the say requires to prove that you have insurance. When you have a bad history, the say will not grant you to just say you have insurance, they require that you provide proof as a condition of having your driving privileges

You are going to have a hard time getting reasonably priced insurance, because of the risk that the insurance company is taking in covering you. No company really wants to insure high risk drivers, because they usually loose money on those drivers.

You don’t. The consequence of the behavior you selected to do is 36 months worth of high insurance rates, and a bad driving record.

An SR-22, also called a Certificate of Financial Responsibility (CFR), is a certificate mandated by the say and provided by your auto insurance company that verifies that you have auto insurance liability coverage.

The SR-22 is also a promise to the say from your insurance that they will notify the say immediately if there is a lapse in coverage, and if there is, they will revoke your license.

Shop around and get quotes from different insurance companies. The DMV offers great resources for inexpensive insurance. Since your 18 years old with a mustang, theres no such thing as cheap insurance and because of your age and style of car. Anticipate costly insurance. It might be less costly if yu were driving a sedan, a automobile with four doors.

if he is living at home can you put him on your policy (the premium takes advantage of your experience) – it will be extremely high for an 18 year old to have a stand alone policy regardless of automobile — will the automobile need comp (other than collission) and/or collission coverage or just liability – these factors add or subtract from the premium – the amount of deductibles – the limit of liabilty do you want for the mustang – the say minimum stipulations or somewhere between the say and the highest levels

Try AAA and Safeco. They are the only companies I have seen that give children a good break unless you are willing to insure it under you. Farmers has the good student discount if he is in your household and under your policy.
