I happen to be an insurance agent licensed in Florida, and I know rates are going up everywhere in the state. I hate to state this but, for a person who is over 70, the rates are not good. Some insurance companies will not even bother writing any business for the elderly. If they do, rates will be sky high regardless of driving history. If you do find a rate that is too good to be true compared to other quotes you have received, it probably is. Bottom line is, you are screwed. Move to Arizona.

I recommend getting a free quote from progressive online, because they usually give you other quotes to compare to theirs.
It also depends on the automobile you are insuring, the sportier the car, and the newer it is, the more costly the insurance.

A couple of things to think about are that you can keep your cost down by not carrying any collision on a 5-year old automobile if it is paid for.
If you “need” collision, take the highest deductible possible. Since you intend to be included on your parents’ policy, it would be more economical for the auto to be owned by them and as a rule, have the same company that insures their home underwrite the auto policy.

Your Parent’s policy will have the most discounts, Multi-car and Prior Insurance discounts. Some Companies do not want young drivers and their rates to add you and another car, will be unreasonable. But try your parents company first and then go shopping. Try Local Independent agents who represent several companies, some of whom might offer a superior rate for younger drivers. You might find one that is less costly then your parents company. Good Luck!!!

you are not going to find the cheapest anything online. what you need first is a car, then you sit down with the local yellow pages and begin dialing local agents, I can usually get through about 10 to 12 before wanting to barf. Everyone of them is going to ask you about 30 questions if not more, most of what as far as you are concerned have nothing to do with insurance. If you refuse to answer the questions like where you live, zip code, what is your credit history like or job? you can not get a quote. So you will need to answer a whole bunch of questions get some quotes you will not like and have a choice pay one of them or not. None of them will be totally cheap. all of them will be totally high. If you have family, your ideal bet is to get on thier policy if they will let you. It will be cheaper for you in the long run. ideal of luck. If you keep trying to get quotes on the world wide web and pass out your name address and phone number to these sites, you will end up with tons of spam, calls to your phone selling other services, and junk mail for your enjoyment. Limit giving info on the internet. This does not happen when you call local agents, they have the ideal rates anyway.

So if you want cheap insurance go for third celebration insurance i.e no insurance coverage for automobile but in case of accident only the third celebration (the celebration who has been affected by your car) will get compenation.

The important information is…. I am a first time driver and I know I might have to pay a lot for automobile insurance but I just want to know what company gives a superior deal with a cheap price and trustworthy .
