Whether or not somebody else found cheaper insurance is irrevelant and means nothing because There are dozens of things that affect premiums. If you want to get a decent premium, then you will have to get qoutes and select the ideal quote for you and your situation.

Cheapest Auto insurance quotes can be found easily by just searching through the internet. However, you will find many false claims which you would discover later on. I would however advocate checking my resource section for the ideal auto insurance quotes which many of my friends have found to be good.

It all depends on your age, what you drive, where you live and what’s on your driving record.

People get taken to the cleaners when they apply for an SR22, remember that the SR22 form will only cost around $ 15.00 to $ 25.00 dollars and that is for the filing fees.

The average cost will depend on the above and that is a one-time fee for the length of your SR22 term, which in most cases will be 3 years.

Also do not let the SR22 lapse because then the insurance company will send the say an SR26 and you will have to begin over.

I believe that if you want the cheapest auto insurance premium, just purchase a used one! They do not base on any brand but they do base on your age and value of the automobile you are insuring!

Open the phone book. Find an agent that is listed as an independent, rather than one size fits all huge box type. Since rates vary by perceived risk, and we have no idea what your record is like, or what your credit report looks like, or anything else other than your age (under 25 which means risk) and location, you give all that information to the agent. He looks in his data base, and finds the one that ideal fits your needs and give you the most value for your money.

I hear your frustration. You probably feel that you are paying too much for something that you really do not need. Hopefully you will not need it.

Online insurers are usually pretty inexpensive. A broker or agent can have quite a few markets to shop so one call there will get you a bunch of quotes. The problem is that your situation is one-of-a-kind and until an underwriter pulls your driver history, checks for tickets and confirms your acceptability a quote is only that, an estimate.

Do be careful. You can purchase the bare minimum insurance and it will be cheaper then buying a higher level, such as $ 1 million public liability and property damage (PLPD). There is a reason why it is so cheap.

You get what you pay for. If you have an accident and someone is injured you will not have as much insurance as you might need. You could find yourself in civil court with an garnishee on your wages for a very long time. Not good.

You could get hit by someone who either doesn’t have much in the way of insurance or who doesn’t have insurance at all. Maybe this is one of those people with a suspended license. Now your very limited insurance amount will not cover much for your medical needs, perhaps long term. It is likely that the driver who hit you doesn’t have a lot of personal resources. So when you take him to court it will not amount to much for you.

Buy sufficient insurance. It is not so much to protect everyone else from your driving. It is to protect you from all the poor drivers on the road who are aiming for your vehicle.

I happen to be an insurance agent licensed in Florida, and I know rates are going up everywhere in the state. I hate to state this but, for a person who is over 70, the rates are not good. Some insurance companies will not even bother writing any business for the elderly. If they do, rates will be sky high regardless of driving history. If you do find a rate that is too good to be true compared to other quotes you have received, it probably is. Bottom line is, you are screwed. Move to Arizona.

I recommend getting a free quote from progressive online, because they usually give you other quotes to compare to theirs.
It also depends on the automobile you are insuring, the sportier the car, and the newer it is, the more costly the insurance.

A couple of things to think about are that you can keep your cost down by not carrying any collision on a 5-year old automobile if it is paid for.
If you “need” collision, take the highest deductible possible. Since you intend to be included on your parents’ policy, it would be more economical for the auto to be owned by them and as a rule, have the same company that insures their home underwrite the auto policy.

Your Parent’s policy will have the most discounts, Multi-car and Prior Insurance discounts. Some Companies do not want young drivers and their rates to add you and another car, will be unreasonable. But try your parents company first and then go shopping. Try Local Independent agents who represent several companies, some of whom might offer a superior rate for younger drivers. You might find one that is less costly then your parents company. Good Luck!!!
