Car insurance companies willingness to pay a claim?
I’ve been looking at several different automobile insurance companies to compare rates and services. I have never had a claim in the past, but I was wondering if anyone had positive/negative feedback they had be willing to share about any specific companies and how they handled a claim. I have been warned that some companies are pain to work with when you do file a claim, but maybe that was just a few rare circumstances with the people I have already talked to. Thanks for you input.

I need a new auto insurance company, Allstate just raised my rates through the roof. But I do not want it to be an unreliable company that will drop me for one tiny crack in my winshield. Where do automobile insurance companies find accident/driving violations?
I have a clean driving record since 1991. I insured my younger brother’s automobile a few years ago. He was in a couple accidents with alcohol playing the factor. The automobile title was under my name along with insurance. I want to compare insurance quotes but I honestly do not remember the dates of his accidents (3-4+ years ago?). If I find a cheaper rate, I want to make sure I am not dumped by the new insurance company for false information. How do I access the same information the insurance companies find for actual quotes? Since it was his name associated with the accidents and not mine, is there a one-of-a-kind database for this?

I have been a licensed 2-20 Insurance Agent for a year now. I’m currently looking for auto insurance companies that are appointing in Florida. Any names and phone numbers of these companies would be a huge help.
Here are lists of companies that I’m currently writing business with:

Progressive
Gainsco
Seminoles
I need some more companies so that I am not only limited to these four. By the way I am in the SW Florida area.

Why are auto insurance companies granted to get away with such criminal practices?
After moving into inner Atlanta because I have grown exhausted of a absolutely automobile dependent lifestyle, my auto insurance went from 70 dollars a month to almost 160 based solely on my location.
Not only is this unfair and stupid, it seems to me to defy logic. I would think the suburban commuter who is spending lots of time in his automobile each day is more prone to claims than me, who barely has a reason to use my automobile anymore.
Ridiculous.
Clarification: We are speaking say minimum coverage here, so I was not covered for theft in the first place.
