Do auto insurance companies typically offer military discount?
I’m in the New Hampshire Army National Guard, and I am also 21 and unlicensed. My dad states we need to get the one family automobile we have insured for me before I can even test. Wanted to know if auto insurance companies typically offer military discount, which ones do, and how much usually?

The only company I know of that offers a military discount is USAA Insurance. None of the 20 or so companies I work with on a daily basis offer one.

You’d have to ask the company in question, some yes, some no, there is no single answer for all.

Many insurance companies do offer a discount for employees (mine does, but it’s so small, it doesn’t make sense for me to switch). Keep in mind that there is not a whole lot a teen can do for an insurance company. The one I work for doesn’t hire anyone younger than 18 and out of high school.

If I submit an modified grade transcript to the auto insurance company looking to get a good student dicount, do I have to worry about them calling the school to check. Is this a realistic concern. If they do, what are the real consquences?

donr worry, they dont check, well, they didnt on me, they just took my grades as i brought them

Can I get a discount on automobile insurance with a motorcycle no claims bonus?
I passed my CBT 3 years and and passed my full motorcycle test 2 years ago. I have never had any claims or convictions. Tomorrow I will hopefully be passing my practical automobile test. I want to know if there are any insurers that will take my motorcycle no claims into consideration when quoting me for automobile insurance so that I can get it cheaper.

it depends entirely on the insurer. a good broker might be able to get you a superior no claims bonus allowance but as its not a automobile they can refuse. i got a 2 year introductory bonus for driving a company automobile for 4 years before i got my own car.
ask .. u have nothing to lose but in cases like this a good local broker you can chat to might be ideal bet rather than online.

New York automobile insurance, LoJack discount for Allstate?
Hi all, I currently have Allstate automobile insurance and I purchased a new automobile with a LoJack installed. When I tried to get the discount, they only took off $ 7 per month on my policy..

Looking online, I discovered that New York say mandates that automobile insurance companies must give a discount for LoJack, but I am not sure how much. The LoJack website is not very clear on the subject, saying 25% for NY but I am not sure if that means up to 25% or a mandated 25%…

Anyone happen to know? I am having trouble finding any concrete information.

The discount, whatever it actually is percentage wise, probably applies only to the theft or comprehensive part of the premium, not to the entire premium; that is why it seems so paltry.

Getting discount on Geico insurance?
I just purchased my auto insurance policy from Geico on the web for a 6 month policy. It states I am receiving a good driver discount, even though when I was applying for and buying the policy I said I had a speeding ticket and not at fault accident. Not that I am complaining, but how is this possible? It states the discount is for driver’s who have been accident free for 5 years. I am a tiny puzzled!

Since the accident that you were in was not your fault, it will not be held against you. I know I had one of those as well. I went through gieco for six months, just be careful because after those six months my insurance premium went up. I now go through progressive and I save about $ 12 a month compared to what I would have been paying at geico. Just remember that the insurance companies reel you in with good rates for the first six months, and after that all of their premiums go up.

If you want a discount, you need to pay for the course. If you find a free one, it probably will not be accepted by your insurance company.

There is no such thing as free in this world. I know for a fact that all the courses that are accepted by your local DMV/insurance company cost money. The reason being that to become accredited with a say costs large money. So companies have to charge a fee in order to stay in business.
And for says like Texas there is a sate mandated minium fee of $ 25. You will not find a course cheaper than that in Texas. In other says like Arizona prices vary. But its work you $ 25 because the insurance discounts are huge. For the most part the traffic ticket dismissal course is not the same one to get an insurance Discount. The dismissal course is longer and more thorough regarding laws, and signs, and DUI and all that Jazz. The course for getting a discount is usually called a Defensive Driving course where they go above and beyond the basics of traffic school and tech you the skills necessary to avoid accidents and stay safe.

I passed this course in the middle of 2007 and got this certificate, but i can’t use it as one of discount factors when i am gonna to purchase an auto insurance. You can’t use it to get a discount if you used it to dismiss a ticket. And maybe your company just doesn’t offer that discount. Not all companies do, so shop around. Texans only need to take the class if they are ordered by a judge to not have a ticket go on their record.

I also find it strange that you are able to shop for rates online. Typically you can put in your information, but they can’t quote rates on the web for the say of Texas yet. It has to come from a representative of the company who is licensed.
