Which automobile insurance companies offer discounts for students 100 miles away & not driving?
I need to renew my insurance and I will be studying abroad next semester and not using my vehicle. I heard there are special discounts for students not driving their cars 100 miles away from home, but so far I have ran through all the on the web quote applications and no companies have been asking about that. They ask about the GPA but not whether I am 100 miles away.
I still need insurance because if you go ANY amount of time without it, regardless of ur situation, your rates will go up. I need to be continuously covered even when im not using it.

I have Geico right now and pay over 1000 dollars a year. I looked on the web at the Teacher’s Insurance Plan and my quote was just over 400 per year. Has anyone heard of this provider, or do you use another?

According to my auto insurance company (AAA), various scientists and engineers can get discounts simply for having a degree in one of these areas or by being employed in one. Why is this? Are they actually superior drivers?

beat up 1995 toyota camry! I got it for 600 bucks and Progressive want $ 250 a month for insurance! Crazy! I plan to get a 5 speed in the future. So I want to get prepared for a jump in prices! Also, I live with my Fiance, so I am says away from my parents to be under their name! So my name will be the only name on the insurance. Any ideas? I know there is defensive driving on the web courses, but what others are there that I can get my insurance to go way down? I am also graduated from highschool, and going to college in Fall of 2010!
