Do I need auto insurance if I do not have a automobile or plan on driving?
I want to get my license because it is something that I need to get out of the way now. I do not have a automobile or plan on driving until I can even afford auto insurance but this summer is the only time I have free to get my license. I am 20 and in college.
My mother stated that until I am 21 that I would have to go under her insurance automatically…even though I do not have a automobile or plan on driving at college…that’s the only reason I am confused as to why i’d have to pay. Her insurance would go up if I do not plan on driving.

I disagree with the use of credit scores and auto insurance, and would like to find an auto insurance company that doesn’t use the method when selling me their service. Does anyone know of companies that do not check your credit, and instead uses your driving record, age, etc….like it used to be?

I just saw a commercial for Safe Auto & they stated they do not check credit. Do most other insurance companies check it? And does that make Safe Auto’s rates higher? Basically, I need liability insurance and as cheap as possible. I do not have a bad driving record but my credit is not good.

Can someone file a claim w/ the other persons insurance if they personally dont have auto insurance themselves?
I have a client whose automobile got rear ended by another automobile and he is suffering a pretty bad knee injury due to the accident. Can he file a claim with the other persons insurance company even if he personally doesnt have auto insurance? I know in the say of California it is illegal to drive without automobile insurance, but does that mean he cant file a claim for his automobile and injuries? Thanks

Just curious, mostly because it annoys me when people compare it to automobile insurance. You can select to drive or even own a automobile for that matter. If you do not want health care and not be fined for it you have to be dead with this new health care reform.
