Will automobile insurance companies pay a claim just to file insurance fraud charges?
I had a small accident in earley December.. I bent my fromt drivers side rim and messed something up with the stearing.. I had just switched to full coverage 2 days prior because me and my wife were on the web looking for renters insurance and she notices we did not have full coverage. we upped it to full coverage and bought renters insurance. Back to the accident: I was the only one in the automobile and there were no witnesses. my tire just hit a small cement barrier by my home on a country road. I called the insurance comapny within an hour of this. they questioned it due to us just changing the policy and started an investigation. They drilled me for information and made me feel like a crook. They got info on me being arrested (NOT CONVICTED) over 8 years ago for stupid stuff in another state (weed). They brought up the 2 other accidents I have had an issues with them. They only gathered information from bad sources for example my last automobile accident was with the owner of a tow yards daughter… the tow yard is keeping the automobile from my first accident and wont release it… (they were over a year apart just for the people that are going to make smart ass comments) so of course he is going to state negative things about me. I had a very rude conversation with the investigator about 2 hours ago… he was very rude and had a lot of cruel remarks and comments. during this conversation is when all of the past things were brought up.. my other accidents, my arrests from 8 years ago, my finances, me owing $ 200 to a past landlord and it being in the paper… then 20 minutes later my insurance company calls me back and says they ARE going to pay for the damages and are having my automobile towed to get it fixed.
I am happy about this but it concerns me because the investigator really thinks I am defrauding them and wants my head on a platter ( or so it feels) so would they concur to fix the automobile and pay for it just to be able to file more charges? or any charges?
I have given them everything I can to prove it happened when we stated it did but they just refused to believe us and all of a sudden they state here is some money thank you bye? I dont get it.
