I’ve just sold my 1st car…now what happens about the Insurance?
Sorry to sound thick, but I have only been driving for 5 months so automobile insurance rules are new to me.
I took out my policy in September 2009 on my first car, which I pay monthly in installments. This day I have sold my automobile so should I cancel my insurance absolutely or just transfer the new automobile details over onto this policy?
I have been searching for quotes for my new automobile and cheapest is £800 with another Insurer. My current insurer has quoted me (online) £1028, an increase of £26 per month on top of what I normally pay.
If I cancel surely they will make me pay a cancellation fee? Also, when I purchase another policy they will make me pay a deposit of approx £200. Would my current insurer match the £800 quoted by another firm like they normally do when looking for the first time?
Its so confusing for my tiny brain to handle!!!!

What happens if you lie to a new automobile insurance provider?
I was cancelled for reasons out of my hands, apparently the insurance person did not record I had spoken to them during a conversation. So my broker cancelled my insurance.
Now everywhere I go they want to charge me a lot more for thsi cancellation and I cannot get through to my company to try to have the cancellation revoked.
What happens if I apply to another automobile insurance company and state i was not cancelled. I pay ontime there is nothing wrong, are they going to find out about the previous company somehow?

What happens if accidently I gave false information to my automobile insurance during the application process?
I was under the impression that my 2003 automobile had ABS (anti lock braking system) because my automobile dealer told me so, I purchased it used. Accordingly during the on the web application for my automobile insurance I stated that my automobile has an ABS System. Pretty soon after that I discovered that my automobile does not have such a system. I would like to inform my insurance because I do not want to have problems in case there is an accident. But will they cancel my insurance if I tell them the truth?
