The auto is insured, and the driver is authorized to drive it. Got speeding ticket and showed proof of insurance for auto. Went to get deferred adjudication and included copy of insurance card where authorized user but now being asked for insurance on driver.

Are automobile insurance companies having a laugh?
Me and a friend were taking out some automobile insurance quotes the other day – entering his information in he got £1700 a year on an old ’95 (i think) cincequento, which frankly was hilarious. Then, all we changed was the address so that he “lived” at my house. It pushed the insurance up to something like £2700.
Now I dont get this – he lives in a pretty rough area in my town, right near where all the “boy racers” live and such. I however live in a small village about 2 miles away and just outside of the town. In my area, the population is about 90% seniors and it is very quiet.
I thought insurance companies were supposed to weigh the risks of location against their policy? Why has mine come out a grand more?

I got a ticket for having alcohol on the beach, do I need to go to traffic school?
A couple of friends and I were drinking some beers on Seacliff Beach in Santa Cruz when a cop busted us. He was fairly cool about it and instead of ticketing us all, he just ticketed me. I took responsibility as I was the oldest one there.
I tried to pay the ticket on the web and when I got to the payment amount section it asked me if I wanted to go to traffic school for an extra $ 49 not including the cost of the traffic school!
I did not know that having alcohol on the beach meant going to traffic school!!
Will this really affect my auto insurance if I do not to traffic school? How does having alcohol on the beach have anything to do with my driving?
That was one costly beer….
