No. You have ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ inquiries. Hard inquiries consist of banks or auto dealers pulling credit (anytime you might be looking for new credit). Soft inquiries would be a cable company, insurance company, etc… (anytime someone is ‘just checking’ your credit history.) According to Fair Isaac, when your credit is hit with a ‘hard’ inquiry, you will last a 2pt temporary loss. You can have your credit pulled an infinite amount of times within 15 days (so long as it is relevant to the initial inquiry) and it will not injured your beacon score any more. This is good to know when….say….you are shopping for a automobile and your salesman pulls some crap about ‘you hurting your credit score by shopping around’. Besides, even if it does dock you a few points, it’s not going to make much of a difference.

To answer your question: When you are hit with a ‘soft inquiry’ it will not affect your beacon. Shop away!!!

Best way to get quotes? Call around, or just ask for quotes online.

Yes it does. I would recommend using a company that does not run a credit check.

Try Landa. They cover many says and do not run a credit check.

I do not know if they will be the cheapest.

YES it does. I am involved in a case where a insurance company ran 17 hits on a customers credit. It dropped her score over 100 points.

My advice “Don’t use insurance companies that run a credit check”
