Am I paying to much for automobile insurance?
I like in Tempe, AZ. I am under my parents insurance and I am paying $ 200 a month for automobile insurance. I drive a Toyota Yaris 2007. At first I thought what I am paying for was wayyyyy to much, but I got some quotes from other insurance company’s and they want me to spend more?! What the heck? Can anyone help me out?
I nearly forgot to mention, I am 18 years old. I am 19 in April (couple months, if this makes a difference).

Insurance cost different from one location to another, say to state, etc…. but the price doesn’t sound out of line for full coverage. You can check around, but to get insurance on you own will cost more (not under you parents insurance policy).

Hopefully you are still living with your parents, and even though you are officially an adult, their insurance company will grant you to continue being on their policy.

Should they decide to drop you and make you get your own policy, it will be much higher.

You will not see much of a drop until age 25.

Volkswagen GTI owners, how much do you pay for insurance?
I am doing a project and I need to get 3 auto insurance quotes. It’s due tomorrow, if it’s not too much trouble could anybody get me 3 quotes?

This is the specifics:
2008 (White) Volkswagen GTI
2-Door Hatchback
46,000 miles 2 Wheel Drive Automatic

Help would be much abliged, thank you.
18 New Driver with no past history of any automobiles. It’s 10 years in the future though. So I am 28 with no record of automobile ownership accidents.
*or And yes, I am asking if someone could call for me. I am extremely busy, so if you can thank you.

are you asking people to call and get a quote for you? cause it will be different for everyone. unless you want estimates, youre going to need to call yourself. its pretty easy, and insurance companies will always give you a free quote. plus, not only is it based on your car, but also your record, lisence, age, gender and state. i have a 07 GLI with 85,000 miles and I am paying about 75$ per month. this is through amfam.

just give a few calls. it shouldnt take more than 20 minutes per quote.

Can’t do it for you, because now each insurance company runs a credit report/score check on you. They use it to justify higher premiums. It also depends whether you are married or not. And they want your full address. Who in their right mind is going to do that for you? Each time a credit check is performed it lowers your credit score a little. If your instructor gave you this project they are an idiot who doesn’t know how the system works. Since most school instructors are liberals it’s not a surprise they are clueless.

Why do not at fault accedents effect my insurance quote so much?
So being 21 I am starting to quote and compare my own automobile insurance. My parents are planning on carrying me on theirs until I move out or turn 22 (neither one will happen any time soon).
I’m planning on going with Progressive because thats why we ue now and I like all my experiences with them. I have been playing around with the quote finder and figured out that my one speeding ticket adds $ 8 to my monthly payment, but my two not at fault accidents add $ 12 a piece. Which I dont comprehend because I was not the cause. My first accident will be three years ago in November and a guy backed into my parked car, the second accident happened about two and a half years ago when I was rear ended by a texting driver. (My speeding ticket will be three years ago soon too.)
I plan on waiting till my ticket is dropped at the three year mark so then it will not be counted against me and save $ 8, does the same apply for accidents as well?
I just dont think its fair haha.

I do not get why I am considered a “bad” driver though. I have only been involved in two accidents and they were not my fault.

It doesn’t matter if an accident is your fault or not insurance companies will raise your rates.

Your insuarnce could rise a lot after such an accident. You should review some insuarnce plans for bad driver record

I had Geico with ok coverage and out of nowhere they raised my quote. So I decided it was time to shop around. I got an awesome quote with a different company and with even superior coverage!!
I could not explain why it was so cheap but I am not complaining.

I pay about $ 100 a month. But mine is a tiny higher because I am 23 and single. I have Progressive. They were by far the cheapest for me.

My husband and I have a joint policy with 2 cars. We were quoted at almost the same amount each by the same carrier. In other words, 1 person 1 automobile for the same amount we are paying now for 2 people and 2 cars.

Under a certain age, unmarried people pay more than married people (I gather you are 25 or less). It’s just arithmetic–they have more accidents.

The good news is that you got a quote. Did you get more than one, because each automobile insurance company charges different rates based on the type of driver you are. Young drivers always end up paying a lot of money. The next step once you have picked a company is to speak to them about what type of insurance you need and then how you will pay for it. Some insurance can be paid monthly but it is more common to pay it each 6 months or 1 year. If ever in doubt get in contact with your insurance company.

Am i paying too much for automobile insurance?
I am in my early 30s. A single male, no kids.
I have a pretty much spotless driving record. The only ticket i have had in the past 10 years that i can think of off hand was for not using a turn signal, that was over a year ago. Other than that, nothing in around 10 years. No claims on my insurance in over 10 years either.
I drive a 2001 Ford ZX2, its a compact car-for those not familiar with it , it would be similar to a Chevy Cavalier or Dodge Neon.
Oh, im paying $ 700 each 6 months for full coverage automobile insurance through Nationwide. I have been with them ever since i started driving.
This seems like alot. Is it? My friends tell me im overpaying, yet when i call around other places to get quotes i never find anything cheaper. In fact several places have told me to stay where im at.
I dont have a problem paying it, but im just trying to find out if this sounds about right and fair as far as the price goes.
Anyone out there a insurance agent?

The amount that you are paying is what we pay for a 2001 Pontiac sunfire and a 1998 Plymouth breeze, for both myself and my husband. I have unlimited use on my automobile and my hubby has work use only with limited mileage. We both have spotless records and have taken drivers ed, way back when, about 20 years ago.
Your insurance rate will also depend on where you live because it also depends on how bad the other drivers are in your area. So if you live in or close to a massive urban center your amount would not be out of line.

I used to work with a person like that. No matter what I mentioned, it was too much, and he could have got it cheaper. I mentioned I’d purchased a car, and named a price. He, of course, could have got it for less than half that amount. Good–because I have not purchased it yet. Here is his number, go get it for me and I will pay you $ 50 for your time. That cured him.

The amount you pay is based on your coverage. Have your limits in hand and call other insurance companies for quotes – it will not cost anything more than you time and it’s the ideal way to find out if you are overpaying or not.

If the insurance company cannot give you a quote, why do you think we had be able to?

CALL the insurance company and ask them. They should be able to give you a ballpark estimate.

You should first go look at the automobile and find out the details to see if its really what you want.
