WHY ARE ALL MY CAR INSURANCE QUOTES OVER £2000?

Alright I know I am a young newly qualified driver (20 years old) and male but I mainly hear this sort of bracket getting premiums of £1000 or just under. However I cannot seem to find anything under £2000. I do not know what the problem is. The automobiles I have been obtaining a quote for are 1.1 engine automobiles like peugeot 106 or ford fiesta. Help please?
CAN YOU GET CHEAPER CAR INSURANCE FOR YOUNG DRIVERS WITH GOOD GRADES LIKE IN THE US OVER HERE?

Just been reading about and have noticed that Insurance Company’s in the US give discount to young drivers with good grades. Is there any thing like that in the UK?
