We have Progressive Auto insurance and have had good luck with the claims we have had. The only down side is that the man who owns this company is an extremely liberal democrat who gives the celebration millions of dollars annually.

I am with them now. I find their prices decent compared to other insurances. I got into an accident before my camry hit the 5k mark and they took care of everything for me. can you believe a spider caused me to crash?!! I saw a large spider and I was looking for something to kill it with lol

Insurance companies are all rated. Look up their rating on AM Ideal Company or JD Powers company.
I would never do business with an “e” insurance company or any company that does not have a local office staffed by a real live agent. When I have a claim or a question, I do not want to play phone tag or talk with a mindless robot.

Many companies will toss you a cheap initial rate to get your business and then when they have you hooked, will raise the rate. Be careful !

It might depend on the state you live in. Phone your insurance agent, or ANY insurance agent with the company you are currently with and just pose them that question. If you ask an agent who doesn’t know you, you will get an answer where they will not actually look at your policy so you will not jinx it.

I do not think it would. the claim is NOT against your personal insurance so they do not even find out about it probably (how would they?). Now your company that insures the automobile they provide to you – their rates might go UP. That might not make your boss happy!

I went to a small local automobile dealership with my parents yesterday to compare one more automobile before I decided which to choose. I had such a bad feeling about this guy since he kept pushing his own financing instead of our credit union and wouldn’t be specific on warranty terms, he kept telling my parents we get a lemon law warranty even though I was asking him about a 60 day dealers warranty, but he convinced my parents to do whatever he wanted and also convinced them that I am just a child (22) and I don’t know what I’m speaking about. I walk out on the deal but he has all our info still.

The dealer now has photocopies of our:

SSN numbers
Bank application with our signatures
Licenses
Mom’s paystubs
2 current bills
Copy of Current automobile insurance info
Copy of Current registration info
Copy of our current automobile title.

What can he do with all of this info? I have been reading about retail installment sales contracts and I’m a tiny nervous that he could do something fraudulent.

www.bankrate.com will show you rates in your area. You should know that you have to have excellent credit to get a personal loan and also have the means to repay it.

A credit union is your best bet for a good rate and a safe lender to deal with.

i am not sure about the police aspect – partly because i do not know where you live, what laws are in effect.

But when you rent a car, they OFFER you insurance.
it seems to me that that would cover it. Of course, you need a driver’s license.

The rental companies provide insurance for the car, so you will be fine if you are pulled over. The problem that is if you are in a wreck, the rental company’s insurance will repair the rental, but YOU will be on the hook for the damage to the other driver’s automobile (assuming it’s your fault). In this case, it would be a good idea to buy the supplemental insurance option. I think it only goes up to $ 15,000 so think about if that would be enough if you were in a serious accident and caused lots of damage and medical bills to the other driver.

It comes down to very few choices in life.

What a conundrum we are in. People need more money and need a level of security and stability to spend. Government can help to provide this. They have tools. It’s all trade offs and priorities. Nothing is easy. What a mess.

If you are not including taxes then they don’t. But, it would be foolish not to include taxes in how the government can and does mandate how you spend your money.

Of course I know I have to enter basic info, but they do not need my exac address, my phone number, my DL#, etc.
Also, does anyone know at what point do you have to add your teenager to your policy? The DMV states it’s when they are actually getting their license, but my insurer has sent papers to specifically exclude my daughter who is currently working on getting her license. If they will not add a permitted driver (non-licensed driver) how can we let her drive and learn if she is specifically excluded from having insurance?
What are these first 2 answers, spam? So much for real help or what?
Looks like my question is a spam magnet…

You CAN add your daughter even with her permit with Farmer’s ins. I do not know about other companies though…. you just have to get them a copy of her DL when she gets it. Good luck
