I just got a lease on a 2010 Honda Civic. Its the first automobile ever in my name and was a bit high-priced for me b/c I do not have an extensive credit history. Progressive was the cheapest auto insurance I could find so I decided to try it.

Well, My family hit a deer on the freeway approximately 3 years ago. We went home and called to tell them that we were in an accident like we were supposed to do. Well a day or 2 later, they would not do anything to help us pay to get a new automobile because it was totaled. Has anybody ever had this problem with this insurance company? I have used Geico for years. I have been extremely satisfied with their service. However, my premium is still more than I want to pay. I got a quote for Progressive and it is considerably less. Anyone out there have Progressive and satisfied with them? How have they handled claims in the past?

Is there a less costly auto insurance carrier other than Progressive?
I have a male friend who is middle aged & is paying close to $ 400 monthly for full coverage on his auto insurance that he has with Progressive. Progressive Insurance vs Safe Auto, who’s better?
i want to get auto insurance. i got quotes on the web and they both gave me the same quote basically ($ 71 per month-6months)…has anyone had experience w/one of these insurance places or have 1 of them currently?
i ended up going with geico, which was the cheapest outta all the ones i checked..$ 52 for 6 months, very cheap so i just paid off the entire policy at once…i got a lot of discounts so that helped…thanx for the responses

Is progressive a decent automobile insurance company?
I am 21 years old attending college 3 days a week working part time making $ 7.25 an hour. this day i got my automobile insurance bill for next 6 months and it came to $ 582 if paid in full or $ 667 if paid over time. this is from farmers insurance btw. i compared that to identical coverage on progressive which was quoted as $ 366 per 6 months. i work 5 minutes from home so shouldn’ t have an accident on the way there. i maybe go out once a week to see a move about 10 minutes away. i am kind of wondering if it’s worth switching i’ve never been in an accident and do not intend to start. i do not want to throw my money away on insurance which as far as i am concerned is a scam

I just purchased a 2009 Honda Civic EX. I have checked various quotes on the web based on my info, and they range near the $ 2000 (sometimes, just a 6 month policy). I just checked progressive, and it estimated a quote near the $ 1380 a year, that is $ 689.90 (6 month policy). It’s a BIG difference, that is why I want to know what I am getting into, any inputs???
When I state I have checked various quotes I meant from different insurance companies: Allstate, AAA, Statefarm, 21st Century….

Progressive auto insurance accident fixes and do they screw people over and not fix what is damaged?
I was in an accident, my automobile hydroplaned off the road and I spun and hit few concrete barriers while in 4wd drive, also damaging the rear end. I reported the accident to my ins., they contacted me the next morning and told me to drop the jeep off (on 1/22/08) at the Progressive claims building for the estimate & fixes (they did not tell me I could take it to another shop, or get a second opinion. nothing). I told them 4wd is acting funny (I do not know, is it possible 4wd got damaged)? They called me later to tell me that only cosmetic damage was done, and it will b done next week. I looked on the web & read their estimate. They are using NON-oem parts, I was not informed this nor am I happy about it. I am afraid it will affect my manuf. warranty. Basically what I want to know is: Will it be ok 2 take it to a Jeep dealership for a 2nd view after they repair it, or am I going to get screwed over & get a automobile that doesn’t work right; then have no way of proving they did not fix all damage
