im 16, defiantly getting my license at the age of 17. im taking drivers ed. Im looking for auto insurance for a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT. Its my first time going for insurence. My parent is on ALLSTATE, i got a quote from them…very expensive. i know it will be costly because im 16,Male, and the automobile is in the SPORTS catagory, but can u find me some cheap insurence? I live in Caribou, Maine. ZIP CODE: 04736.

No, no one can find you “cheap insurance” at 16. No one can give you a quote without your social security number (don’t post it). No one can pick coverage limits for you.

If you do not have any insurance on the automobile itself, minimum liability only, you can pretty much bet on it costing you about $ 2,000 a year.

No one can quote a source. You did not provide anywhere near enough information for a REAL quote. AND, seeing as how the actual policy is not going to happen for a whole ‘nother year, it’s just an excercise, ya know?

You can actually do a quote w/out a social security number, some companies use the address when running the POS score.

How can i get my automobile insurance quotes down?
i have just passed my driving test for a full license in the UK, i am 18, male and after looking at several different websites (some comparison ones and some direct ones) i have found that for what is considered a “good first car” (no more than a 1.2 engine) i am likely to be paying the minimum of £4000! and this is just for third celebration and theft.
i am wondering if there is any way i can get this number down.. can anyone recommend a good insurance company or anything like the pass plus that will lower it by a reasonable amount? or even a specific automobile that is generally cheaper than others.

any help would be appreciated!

All you can do is call for quotes… “E” quotes are notorious for being inaccurate and unreliable. Phone some local agents

Can an insurance company (or police) find out if I received auto body quotes and prove prior damage to a car?
Have damage, got it quoted, did not fix it, was in an accident which made the damage worse, but I am worried the insurance company will see that I have quotes and deny my claim or book me for fraud. The quotes were done using my vin.
I guess the question is, when they enter my vin will the old quotes come up from a month before? I believe they will not be able to see the prior damage or figure it out just by looking at it. I am just not sure if the insurance company or police have access to the auto body database.

Field adjusters can recognize old damage. Rust settles in, if you have washed/waxed the vehicle, wax deposits can be found within the edges of the damage, along with soap deposits.

Just be up front with the insurance carrier & avoid fraud at all costs.

There are lots of people having the same question like you and yours is just another one. Basically talking about vehicle insuranceperson’s vehicle might cost you money out-of-pocket if you do not have adequate coverage and your vehicle insurance rate might go up.

Quote is just insurance talk for a ruff price based on the information you provide the company. Quotes can be inaccurate if all of the underwriting information (that’s the stuff that makes the price what it is) is not given.

Hi I am looking to get new auto insurance. I got a pretty huge speeding ticket out of say ticket 06/2010. When doing the on the web quotes it states include tickets within the last 3 years I was wondering if I did not include this speeding would they know, or do they only do your motor car record in the say your insuring your vehicle? My current insurance did not go up as of yet, but I want off my parents insurance because I am getting older (23). From the on the web quotes the difference in price a month with the ticket is about $ 40 more a month! Please do not respond back with do the crime pay the time crap… keep that to yourself. Thanks

They will find out. Alltickets and fines go into a common database, which is accessable to all. There is no way around it.

Eventually, that out of say ticket WILL trickle over to the DMV in your state, and show up. The time lag can be anywhere from three weeks, to about 9 months. But sooner or later, it WILL show, so you will have to pay.

The reason your current insurance has not gone up is because they have not recently ran your mvr. Most companies only run mvr’s once in a long while for current customers as it costs them money everytime they do. So it is possible to get away with it entirely if you stay on your current policy. The only way to know for sure is to get an acutal quote done where they run your report. Until you do that, all of this is only speculation. Good luck

If you are in a risky profession, police officer, fireman, or the like, or have hobbies like sky diving, you will be seen as a risk.

Add to that, if you work at home you do not have to drive to work, which is good. Just working at home and self employed will get you in the ideal risk class.

Depends on your state. And if the automobile is being used for work or for personal use.

If its personal use, your profession does not make any difference.

Best profession would be one where you do not work at night like waiters, cooks etc and obviously away from alcohol or risk.
Perhaps state you are a webmaster or a builder.
But the ideal way to save dough is to ask everyone’s quote and go for the cheapest.
And I do mean asking 67 or 94 or so quotes. World wide web and yellow pages. Go for it.

yeah actually, you should be able to go to any three automobile dealerships and get quotes. i would get one quote by the person who is supposed to come out and look at it. and then get other quotes by top dealerships in the area.

You can ask them for copies. If they will not provide them then you just do not pay it.

you can ask them, for anything you want, the problem is, they are going to do what they want, Im not sure why you are asking this, are you paying this out of pocket? if so, I know some insurance companies might send you a letter asking you to pay this amount, they might send more than one letter, the next thing you get maybe the court case number they filed if they do not get paid in a specified period of time (which means they fixed the persons automobile that was damaged promplty, and intead of messing around, just made a letter of demand, (as required by law) and after 30 days filed suit. thay may, or might not be difficult to work with, ask for the estimates and see. good luck

I’m currently shopping for a car, and I have whittle my choices down substantially. One of the factors that can make a difference is discovering the cost of insurance.

Unfortunately, everytime I try to get quotes on the models online, each single insurance company wants my personal information. I do not want them to be calling me, flooding my inbox or mailbox with advertisements, or otherwise harassing me. All I want is a comparison between some cars. I would be willing to tell them non-personal info, such as the fact that it’ll be one automobile and that my driving record is spotless; I’d be willing to prove the latter via an MVR after I choose my insurer.

If there are any ideas on how I can get this information without revealing who I am, I am just not seeing it. Any help is appreciated!

Online companies survive by selling your info, including your e-mail address. Be prepared for a Spam overload when using them. Call local agents and explain your circumstances.

Go sign up for a free email somewhere, then just put that one down- who cares how much spam goes in it if you never use it for anything.
You can make up a fake name and address as well. Then they cannot call you direct.
If you see a quote you like call the insurance place directly.

So does anyone know if obtaining a rate quote for your auto insurance or obtaining a rate quote on auto loans will lower your credit score? Getting automobile insurance, the hit for the quote, is a SOFT hit, and will not affect your credit score. Getting the LOAN for the car, though, is a HARD hit and WILL affect your credit score. That means, purchase the insurance first, for the ideal rate.

Some companies will give you an estimate, and not actually run your credit until you purchase the policy – especially on the web sites. That makes for a really unsightly surprise sometimes, when you actually go to purchase the policy.
