My automobile was vandalized and there was about $1100 in damage. I”m paying the $500 deductable and my insurance is paying the rest. Will my rates go up?

On Sunday, I was at Home Depot. I came out of the store to discover some a-hole hit my automobile with a metal shopping car, leaving orange paint down the side and a good sized dent. Two witnesses came up to me and gave me a description of the automobile and the license plate number. I do not want to pay a deductible, I want this jerk to pay for it. If I call my insurance and tell them about it, will my rates go up? How else can I get this guys information to take him to small claims court?
ARE THERE ANY CAR INSURANCE COMPANIES THAT DON’T USE A SOCIAL SECURITY # WHEN DETERMINING YOUR RATES?

I think it is horrible that they base automobile insurance rates on your credit history. Having bad credit doesn’t make you a bad driver. If they are worried about you paying the bill, why do they make it HIGHER if you have bad credit? Is not that a tiny messed up?
Are there any companies that do not do this?

first of all i am 21 years old, I NEVER had any kind of accident or ticket or anything like that, I have been driving for about 4 years now.
I used to pay 67.34 $ a month which isnt that bad but now i got a new automobile and my insurance rates went up to 83 $ a month.
why??
btw i called them and the lady stated it has nothing to do with the new car.
but still why did my rates go up if i never had any kind of accident or anything?

I am looking to purchase a new car. It is a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. I live in Wisconsin, am 29, and have an excellent driving record. I need full coverage, and called my insurance agent (Progressive- which I have been with for over 12 years) and they said, for an average, about $500 each 6 months. Is this a tiny high or is this about average. Are there any other automobile insurance companies that might offer superior rates?

A coworker once told me that once you are labeled as a homeowner, your automobile insurance rates go up b/c you can be sued for your house. Is there any truth to this? If it matters, I live in NY.

I need to find automobile insurance rates to compare, but I cannot find a site that lets me do a comparison and get results on the internet. I do not want to give them my phone number and email because I know I will be spammed to death by people trying to sell me something.
Is there anywhere I can go to get comparison rates for free without having to put in contact information like that?

I have Progressive automobile insurance. I got the ticket in Missouri for 14 MPH over the limit (44 MPH in a 30 MPH zone).
If I just pay the fine ($65.00) and take the points (4 points), how much will my automobile insurance rates go up?

It should be against the law since everyone must carry automobile insurance. Also, what does my low credit score got to with my great driving record? Sounds like another reason to raise rates because most credit scores are low across the board. If someone pays their insurance company on time and has a good driving record should be their only concerns. Doesn’t that make sense to raise automobile insurance rates to persons that had a hard time paying a bill, bit made all their automobile insurance payments on time.
