If I put a feeze on my credit, will I have to temporarily freeze it each time I shop for new auto insurance?
I am considering putting a freeze on my credit. However, there are so many auto insurance comapnies that now check some sort of credit score when determining premiums Are there enough left out there that do not do this for me to be able to get insurance? Or will I have to temporarily thaw my reports before I get an insurance quote?
As I comprehend it, a credit freeze keeps new creditors from looking at your credit report and score. Existing creditors still see it and add info to it, but you can’t get any new credit while it is frozen. I am interested in this because I no longer use debt at all, and I do not want anyone looking at my report without me specifically giving permission for them to do so. The only area I can think of where this might injured me is in getting insurance. It takes 3 days to thaw a frozen credit report.

Car Insurance Claims Adjusters – What to expect? Should I get my damage appraised at a body shop?
Just had an accident. Someone rear-ended me, and it bent my frame, broke some lights that were brand new, messed up my bumper completely also, and also, bent in my trunk lid, so now the light is on.
And yeah, the person that hit me made my automobile fly at someone elses automobile and there is also damage at the front bumper.
I wanted to know if I should go on ahead and get an auto body shop to give me an costly appraisal for all the work to be done to my automobile to get it repaired.
Well, I am anyways, but what else should I dooo… hint hint wink wink..?
I’ll be cleaning the crap out of it thats for sure. I am a professional auto detailer in cosmetics and interior only.

Tires shined
Wheel wells painted
Stickers removed
All that jazz.
So tell me, what else would you do to add value to their “Estimated Value”
Also, what type of prices do they compare to?

My insurance adjuster came out and cut me a check for 1,200. The check issued is a fair price.The shop i trust gave me a quote of 1,300 which means I will only have to pay 100 out of pocket. My deductible is 500. Do i still have to pay 500 even though the check will cover most of the expenses?

So i was involved in an auto accident and it was his fault, i contacted his insurance (AAA) and they stated to get an estimate and to leave it at the shop and that they will send the money to them (auto shop) and NOT to me… Is that legal… because i want them to send me the money… If its illegal to for them to send the money to the shop and not to me, then can i get some on the web sources were it states that they can or cant do that. I am looking to purchase a new car. It is a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. I live in Wisconsin, am 29, and have an excellent driving record. I need full coverage, and called my insurance agent (Progressive- which I have been with for over 12 years) and they said, for an average, about $500 each 6 months. Is this a tiny high or is this about average. Are there any other automobile insurance companies that might offer superior rates?
