I live in the DC area and I am trying to figure out the pros and cons of living in the Virginia or Maryland suburbs. I heard a rumor that if I move to Maryland, my insurance company will jack up the rates. Does that sound right? Why would the rates be higher just because I cross the say line?

It’s not fair. Some people are genetically predisposed to be bad drivers or just do not care. Why should they be charged more than drivers who do not participate in risky behavior?
The point links to another YA quetioners question and my earlier question on whether healthier people should get a break on their health insurance.
