That’s why you have under/uninsured motorist on your policy as well as the other coverages. Deduct is probably more than a tail light though.

Contact the police. Meanwhile, sue her. Take her to Judge Judy! Kidding about Judge Judy, but you might take her to small claims court. I think it costs around $ 30 here to get on the docket plus some of your personal time to be there. Doesn’t sound like you need an attorney. The case would be a lot easier if there was an accident report written by a police officer. Not sure if it’s worth the cost of a busted taillight though.

We cannot tell you; we do not have rate books here and Maine is a huge state. Your ideal bet to begin out with would be the company you are with now–your parents’–and ask them; they know you and your record. After that, try the Yellow Pages.

My insurance is through state farm. My automobile insurance costs me $ 69 dollars a month and my automobile is a 93 Dodge Shadow. Say Farm works with students and if you have a good driving record and stuff you can get a discount called “Steer Clear” and if you have good grades ( B average) you can get a discount called the “Good Student”. You might even qualify for more discounts so you can save more money that way. Depends on the automobile and the type of insurance you put on it.

There is no way you can find cheap automobile insurance if you are not wiling to search around for a good price.
The cheapest cost might be around $ 120 as there was another kid asking this same questions two posts down and that is what he was paying.
But who’s to state that you drive different cars, live in different places and are buying different insurance cover from different insurers.

Usually reports have to be turned in by the “end of watch”.

call the police department..(non emergency number)..the cop should have given both ur sister and the other person a copy of the accident report.

Depends on the bureau – since an accident report generally involves some investigation, they are usually given up to a week to complete them. In any case, the officer would have drwn a report number at the scene that he could have provided to your sister.

Most agencies state that you can get duplicates of the reports after about 10 days to 2 weeks. A month is stretching things….

It will depend on your driving record up to that point. If it is clean there will be a drop, but if you have has tickets between the time you received your license and when you turn 25, there is a good chance there will not be any change in your premium. It also depends on who you have your insurance through and how long you have used the one company.

To be honest, I did not see much of a drop just because I turned 25 and neither did my wife.

However, I did notice a pretty sizeable drop once I was 25 and I purchased a new car. That is when I noticed the biggest change. There was about only an $ 8 per month difference between insuring a VW Rabbit and a MazdaSpeed3 (being older than 25 with a clean record), but when I looked at buying a Dodge SRT-4 vs. a Ford Focus when I was 23 (with a clean record) the difference in premiums between the two was nearly $ 50 per month.

Okay the rule is when you turn 25 OR when you get married which ever comes first. But average savings can be between 10 and 25% depending on what Geicos break is. You should be able to call your agent and find out… But then again Geico really doesn’t have agents… Good luck

25 is the magical age for insurance companies. For a single male, this moves you from high-risk to the low-risk category…cause now you really know how to drive.

Your rates will drop as you get older and create a good record of safety; I am not aware of any policy that says 25 is some magic number, mine did not change too drastically at that time.

I did get a rate reduction at 26. But then I started driving late because my parents did not want to pay the insurance.

The rate reduction is not hugh, but there is a rate reduction after 7 years behind the wheel. There is additional rate reductions based on marriage, and profession.

The ideal way to get the ideal deal is to shop around, as with anything that you are purchasing, if you do the work and shop, you will be able to get the ideal deal possible.

You can’t. No one will give you a “general estimate”. Well, maybe your parents’ insurance agent. But there are WAY too many variables involved, and all the on the web sites will require a drivers license number before giving you a quote.

But you will have to make up a automobile (year, make, model) and coverages, as well, in order to get even a guess from your parents’ agent.

I use Esurance Auto Insurance. Do i need to call to get the discount. Is there even a discount. Do insurance companys automatically do it?

I have a perfect driving record, no accident history.
