I heard about a company called USAA for auto insurance yesterday. I think it’s a website for military officers, and ex-officers or enlisted people. If I open a bank account with USAA, will I pay less for USAA automobile insurance?
I’m a college student who inherited USAA automobile insurance through my mom.
I’m transferring to a 4-year Uni and looking for all the simplicities and money saving options available ie; overdraft protection, swift debit records, free atm anywhere, no monthly charge, on the web features…….. pretty much everything USAA has standard.
As of now I still bank with BOA, but it might be simpler and cheaper to bank with USAA… especially if they offer a price cut in monthly automobile insurance.

USAA Members out there, is it as good as I read/here?
Was on the web doing some auto insurance quotes to see if I can find cheaper auto insurance and a friend of mine who also is in the military recommended I try looking into USAA. Wow !! I went on the web and got a quote and it’s nearly 125.00 dollars cheaper than what I have now (GEICO) during a 6 month coverage period.
For any USAA members out there, do I have to be a paying member of USAA to get auto insurance? (I’m assuming yes, but wanted to ask first)
Also, what are the annual membership dues like ?
The quote I got seems too good to be true, but I have been in the military nearly 25 years now, so maybe they base my premiums on years of service? Do not know.
On the USAA site now, but thought I’d ask any USAA members first before paying
