Try Progressive.com or 1800Progressive. They are there 24 hrs. Also, just so you are aware, you can get the nonowners policy ONLY if there is NO automobile in your household & NO automobile available for your regular use. If you purchase the policy & then have a automobile available for your regular use (borrowing it for a while), the policy will NOT pay. Also, renting a automobile will be VERY costly since there is no comprehensive & collision on a nonowner policy, it is liability only, there would be NO coverages for damage to the automobile (you would need to purchase the LDW from the rental automobile co) – then it is debatable whether the liability will be valid (if you were renting long-term) because it could be considered available for your regular use.
The ideal thing to do is to purchase an old automobile you can get liability only on – get a regular auto policy & add the SR22 to that policy. It is usually cheaper than a nonowner policy too.

This occurs because the http address you entered belongs to someone that doesn’t have a real web page for that address. Instead, they create traffic by either loading the page you are seeing or redirecting traffic to another web page. Most likely you are mistyping an address or the address has been lost to one of these people. There is no way to prevent them from doing what they are doing.

If this same page appears on any website that 404s, either your ISP or a browser plugin/toolbar is hijacking the page. First try disabling any toolbars you have on the browser, and if that doesn’t work, try contacting your ISP.

Forget web pages, go find an independent agent and let him search his data base for the ideal deal for you. The side benefit is you have a real person to speak to, not a phone number or web page.

$ 2000 sounds a bit high if the automobile is only worth that much. The ideal thing you can do is to compare quotes on the web for 3-5 different insurance companies. The more quotes you get, the more of a chance you will have to get the lowest rate possible. I am not sure which company offered you that rate, but do not settle for anything you think is too high. Keep looking until you find something that you feel comfortable with. There are too many different companies out there to go with a company that is going to overcharge you.

The site below is really helpful because it grants you to compare quotes for all of the insurance companies in your area for free so you can find the cheapest rate possible.

Start at your say insurance department website – the consumer section on “about auto insurance”. It’s written for the consumer, but it’s the ideal thing for free on the web, unless you want to take a class through an on the web insurance school.

**Oh, and the BEST thing to do, is to read the policy forms! Nothing is more plain than that . . .and an employer shouldn’t mind you reading the policy form!**

If you have questions on say law – you need the law guide for am best. But you are not going to enjoy reading that and it’s not really anything you have to deal with.

If it has to do with claims – get to know the adjusters working for your company. When you get a friendly one that sounds like they have been around a while – begin asking questions. I am more than happy to explain things to the agents. If they comprehend why I do what I do- it makes our working relationship better. Agents have been a large asset to me and really helped me move a claim along. An agent that does not take the time to get to know the adjuster or the claims process -tends to give well meaning but very wrong advice to the policyholder. This just makes the claim process much harder than it has to be.

Most of the agents I have worked with over the years are great and really try to help claims out. But each now and then – I get an agent that thinks that the claims dept is the enemy and only out to cheat the customer. They think that making themselves the good guy and the claims dept the bad guy – is good customer service. This is the wrong attitude.

A seasoned adjuster can be a great source of information for you. You might not always concur with how claims does things or why they do it the way they do – but if you take the time to learn the process and comprehend it – you and the adjuster can work together to help the policy holder through a difficult time.

Also, insure.com is a good site. You should not have to provide a credit card.

There are a bunch of websites where all you have to do is fill out a short form and they will give you an estimate from a bunch of different companies. You can select the cheapest one from there. http://www.autoinsuranceestimate.info/ is a good one.
