Obviously rates depend a lot on the person getting the insurance. I am not looking for an exact number, just looking an simple way to compare rates based on different cars.

The problem is with comparison sites, they often take a commission for getting the quote. So it might be easier to use a one page comparison site, but there is no Guarantee you will get the ideal deal.

Some companies like Direct Line for instance do not participate in comparison websites.

So there is the simple way and the ideal way!

you can try the place where i got my insurance at 17.
it was the cheapest place i could find.

You will not get accurate quotes unless you divulge all of your personal information. They need that information to give you a rate.

Measuring sticks for risk assessment:

Driving record
Student status
Age
Marital status
Credit history
Where you live
Occupation
Where you work
How do you use your vehicle
Licensed drivers in your household (teens especially)
…
and a bunch of other stuff that they use to quote a rate. So anything you get on the world wide web will not be accurate unless you give them the info they want.

Cause as brokers they get negotiate different deals with the insurers depending upon how much business they introduce to each company etc. Some insurers offer superior deals to brokers based on a higher percentage of the brokers total business.
