I am 15 years old. I know that you can get your permit when you are 15 and a half. I turn 15 and 6 months in March of 2010. First of all, I would also like to know how a permit works. How does auto insurance work when you “loan” your automobile to another?
I have been thinking of “loaning” my automobile (which I own) to my 87 year old father. I would then lease a automobile for myself. Then at the end of the lease period (let’s state 3 years) if he is no longer driving, the automobile returns to me. Can he buy auto insurance on himself and the automobile or does it fall upon me and my policy? My dad has an excellent driving record and so do I.

How does rental automobile insurance offered by credit card companies (when you use the card) work?
I have credit cards which state they cover me for rental automobile insurance when I use the card to make the full payment for the rental. How does that work? Are there any catches? Does it make sense for me to get the additional insurance from the rental bureau (like Avis)? If I am in an accident, will the Credit Card insurance cover everything or will it also be charged to my regular automobile insurance company?
