HOW DO I STOP GETTING STRESSED DEALING WITH CAR INSURANCE AFTER WRECK?

How do I stop getting stressed dealing with automobile insurance after wreck?
I am having to phone AllState again and again after I was in a automobile wreck, as they stated they would pay for the automobile damage but they keep trying to avoid paying. I am getting so stressed by the phone calls – and I was hurt so the whole thing is a real pain in the neck (feeble attempt at joke…). How can I reduce the stress (don’t state massage or yoga please!!!!!). Should I get an attorney? Or is there some way to be firm but polite on the phone while I ask for what is rightfully due (from what I have heard about automobile insurance after a wreck). Any clues how to deal with the evil insurance adjuster on the end of the phone? This is really upsetting me, and it was bad enough being in the wreck.

I think some insurance companies make this their company policy. Not all are like this. I am not really sure what you can do but keep climbing up the ladder in the company by writing letters. sorry I cannot offer much, I wish you luck and hope your injury is better.

that is how insurance companies get people to sign off for peanuts, especially the one you have. I have been to court with them a few times. To them it’s just business, to me they are just scum. So please, please, please get a lawyer immediately. You cannot do this by yourself. There are plenty of lawyers that will take cases on a contingency basis.

Insurance adjusters are “scum”- ha- thats a generalization if ive ever seen one. I do everything I can daily to keep my customers the happiest they can be in the unfortunate event that is a automobile accident. Im not saying there arent rude adjuster but- have you listened to why they are dragging this out?

There are several issues that are out of adjusters control that could be dragging this out- for example- is there a coverage issue? (Alot of the time the other celebrations insurance might have been cancelled prior to the accident or an unlisted driver might have been driving which can slow things down.)

I recommend you calmly and maturely call the adjuster.. nice ask what the hold up is and if its legitimate comprehend that you will just have to be patient (worse come to worse- go through your own collision if your not happy w/ the other carrier)

As far as a lawyer.. they slow the process down IF ANYTHING. Sure- go run and get a lawyer if you want to give away 1/3 of your money. But a laywer DOES NOT scare an insurance company whatsoever and will extend this thing for months longer.

I am being sued 1 year after automobile wreck and I had auto insurance?
My question(s) are this: I was at a stop light waiting on the light to turn to a green arrow, I behind this truck and we both went under the light. The next thing I know, my automobile was spinning and I hit the steering wheel. I went to check on the other people to see if they were ok and they were very rude to me claiming I ran the red light when I didn’t, The police came and it ws thier word against mine and I got the ticket.( no witnesses) This was my first wreck and I have been driving since 1987. I sat there and watched these people climb out of there SUV into the ambulance I later looked up thier names on the web and sure enough, these people have sued about 5 people in the past 7 years. Both the man and his wife sued the hospital. The wife later sued a clothing store for Prejudism and lost. Her and her husband both sued for another automobile wreck about 3 years ago and lost it and 2 years ago they sued another insurance company for damages not paid. Now, one year later after the automobile wreck, I got a letter saying they are suing me.( my name was on the lawsuit). They are claiming debilitating injuries and mental discomfort but yet they wait 1 year to the date of the wreck to file suit. I was also injured in the wreck. I ended up with whiplash and my chest hit the sterring wheel but I never tried to sue anyone. I think that is the problem with this country. People are sue crazy and we wonder why things are the way they are now. My question is this: Do I need a lawyer when we go to court? I do not really have the money for a lawyer. I am a mom trying to go back to college and trying to raise a mentally handicap son. I also lost my automobile as a result of this automobile wreck and had to drop out of college for 7 months so I lost things too. I was served last Wednesday and I took the suit papers to my insurance company but I have not heard anything back from them. Everyone is telling me the worse that could happen is a judgement( which will give me bad credit) I am already struggling to get through school and raise my family and now this lawsuit. They cant take much if I dont have anything to give. I have this feeling that these people caused the wreck and are in the business of making wrecks happen but I have no proof because I got the ticket in the wreck and I paid the ticket last year. I guess I am screwed. I just pray that the judge will look at the past suits from these people and see how they like to make money the simple way.

YES, get a lawyer as these people are PROFESSIONAL abusers of the legal system. Make sure to show the lawyer your research on these people.

If you had insurance at the time, just let the insurance company handle it. They might already be negotiating with the insurance company but have not settled yet and likely filed the lawsuit since many says only grant a certain period of time to file.

Even though they are probably negotiating with the insurance company, a lawsuit has to be against the owner of the vehicle.

I assume you reported the accident to your insurance company.

As such, your insurance company will hire a lawyer to defend you. Therefore, you do not need to hire a lawyer of your own. You can if you want to and that lawyer will work with the one hired by the insurance company – but there is no reason to hire a lawyer. The one the insurance company hires will be very capable and used to dealing with this type of claim.

If you have not heard from your adjuster or the lawyer they hired- it’s ok to call the adjuster and follow up. You can tell them you want to make sure they got the suit papers and that they have your current address/phone number. If you have questions this is a great time to ask them. You can discuss all this stuff with your adjuster. Your adjuster will be able to discuss all this with you and fill you in on the process.

Basic liability insurance will cover the other driver up to your limit. Did you have any auto insurance? If not, you are in deep !#$$$. If you do than it should already be covered.
